Book Review: "Conversations with God" by Neale Donald Walsch

Updated: Dec 2, 2021

If you ask yourself

"Does God exist?"

"What is the meaning of life?"

"Why is there suffering?",

and "How can I manifest what I want in my life?" then this book is for you.

I have read the first book of this trilogy Conversations with God 1-3 in 2020 and it brought me much peace and knowledge on how I can change my own situation to the better.

These are not books about about religion, these are books about spirituality and they will awaken your own soul search.

The first book, simply called "Conversations with God", talks about the fundamental laws of the universe, the meaning of life and how each individual can live a life of passion and abundance, rather than just existing to "make a living".

Book 2 and 3 look at the humans as a civilisation in context with other highly evolved life forms in the universe. There's a lot of inspiration in these two consecutive books on how we could create a society on earth based on the principles presented in book 1, "Love is all there is", "We are all connected" and "We live in abundance".

Here is a quick list of my most important take aways from Book 1. For a full insight into the wisdom of those three books check out my connected podcast episode title "Book Review: Conversations with God.":

  1. God does not judge. The energy of God is loving, accepting, and joyful.

  2. God created this world, universe, the earth and humans to experience himself through everything, including through us. Therefore we are God. God is in everything.

  3. Love is all there is. Love is the fundamental energy of the universe and of God. Always ask yourself "What would love do?"

  4. We are all one. We are connected to everything, all other humans, all animals, all nature. Therefore, what we do to others, we do to ourselves. We can only live in peace and harmony if we accept, love and honour all parts of us and everything/everyone around us.

  5. There is enough. We live in a world of abundance. If you want to create abundance for yourself, create it for someone else.

  6. There is nothing we have to do in this lifetime. It does not matter what we do, achieve, have. All that matters is who we choose to be. There is no right or wrong, these are just labels humans invented.

  7. We can be, do and have whatever we imagine. Because we are the creator of our life. We create our life with our thoughts. We make real that which we pay attention to. Therefore we attract what we fear and what we persist, resists. What we look at disappears. The best way of creation is to be grateful in advance of the thing/state of being that you wish to have/be.

  8. True freedom is living without expectations and without a need for specific results.Choose who you want to be and how you want to react to events in your life but don't focus on the outcome.
